As an artist and creative (and a photographer!) there is nothing quite like collaborating with other talented creatives. In this world of weddings that we operate in so frequently, we get to see some of our favorite florists, wedding planners, and stylists coming and going but the day is usually busy and there’s not much time to chat and play. After all, we are all there to serve the bride, groom, and their family and friends to be sure their dreams are coming true and they’re having the day they always imagined. It’s an absolute honor to serve them and get to create beauty for them.
It’s also lovely, though, to be able to have a space and a gorgeous venue like the Hotel Domestique where industry friends like Floressence Flowers and Alise Taggart can play alongside us as we all create beauty together. Editorials are a bit of life-blood for me, creatively, but for a few years we completely cut them out in an attempt to get some business practices in order and come up with strategic ways to create space (and a budget) for them. After all, the cost of being a film photographer is not a cheap one (but it’s soooo worth it!)
So, to say that this was a delight to get to collaborate alongside some of my favorite local wedding vendors would be an understatement.
If you are looking for a wedding planner who is also a stylist with an amazing vision in the Asheville area (or worldwide, because she travels!), please do yourself a favor and check out Alise Taggart. She and her husband moved here from Ireland, where she continues to plan and execute incredible weddings each year. She’s local to North Carolina now and not only is she insanely talented (she dreamt up this shoot!) but she is absolutely a delight of a human. She’s kind, courteous, and delightfully pleasant to be around.
… And if you’re looking for a florist in the Asheville area (or Highlands, Brevard, or any of the surrounding areas), go feast your eyes on the floral beauty that Eatherley and her creative team at Floressence Flowers continue to dream up! She just “gets” it, and she’ll blow you away with her execution of your creative vision for the florals on your wedding day.
