If I’m honest, I think I’ve been “hiding” behind the camera for a while …
The truth is, becoming a mom 2 years ago kind of rocked my world, and my confidence, but I’m slowly finding it again … I’m on a journey of self discovery this year. I’m determined to gain my health back (I used to be a runner and celebrated good nutrition too!), to travel and explore more, get outdoors more, and find better balance in my work and my family life. It’s been a few months of steps in the right direction, which is only confirmed by the smile on my face as I write those words.
(Side note: if you are a working mom or creative entrepreneur and you’ve struggled with entering into motherhood, let me know! I’d love to offer what I’ve been learning and hear from you about your journey navigating these new waters we stand in.)
Since it’s been a while, I thought I would say a quick hello and share a few of the quirky things that make me, ME.
I believe in …
Chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Preferably dark, with caramel or toffee involved.
Snuggles with my baby. Every day.
Loving people. Going above and beyond to show kindness, even in the most unexpected and undeserved ways.
Exceptional food, especially when it’s sourced locally and is nourishing to the body.
Sparkling rose and rye whiskey manhattans. Even if I am an oxymoron and love the girliest of drinks and the more masculine. I love both. Unashamedly.
Adventure. I’m always up for a grand adventure, especially if it’s a chance for some introverted time alone while traveling. 🙂
Hot sauce. I have an abnormal stash of hot sauce (a whole drawer that David LOVES ;)). The more vinegar-y and tangy, the better.
Travel. Not just to the pretty places. I’ve been so fortunate to explore so many countries and have learned so much from the people who are so different than I am. I’ve learned so much from those experiences that have helped shape me into who I am today.
Choosing my husband every day. In the difficult days and the easy days. Because marriage is worth it and I can’t imagine life without him.
Hiking. Mountain Biking. Camping. Backpacking. Exploring. Basically anything outside.
Good art. My Bachelors is in Art with concentrations in photography and graphic design, and while I’ve chosen photography as my medium of choice for my craft, I still love to create and appreciate good art of all forms.
