“Every birth is traumatic in some way or another. Trauma can live in the body and it is essential to work to heal so that we can continue to show up for ourselves, our children, and our partners.”
Elizabeth and Acupuncturist Kerry Goodwin discuss the benefits of Chinese medicine and its approach of focusing on the whole being. In her own practice, Kerry focuses on women’s health, particularly fertility and pregnancy. Her holistic approach and focus on herbal medicine takes the treatment beyond the treatment room. Both Elizabeth and Kerry discuss the importance of showing up authentically in our lives, focusing on overall health, and how it will ultimately extend into business as well. To get there, Kerry suggests creating boundaries around our health including best sleep practices, food preparation, and giving ourselves grace in the process.
Kerry Goodwin is the owner of Hearth Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in Asheville, NC. She specializes in women’s health and feels deeply passionate about supporting patients on their journey through motherhood whether it be fertility, pregnancy, or postpartum. Her treatments integrate East Asian medicine and functional medicine and utilize acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, traditional Chinese medicine modalities, and lifestyle changes to create balance within. She loves to empower her patients and help them seek the care they deserve.
Kerry and her husband, Mark, moved from Portland, OR to Asheville almost 5 years ago and their son, Jack, was born in August of 2020. She loves being a mama to Jack and watching him grow and learn each day. Motherhood has made finding balance with work and family even more important. She is a true homebody and spends most of her time at home with family and friends. Some of her favorite things are summertime, cooking, coffee, and good wine shared with friends.
