Kasey & John’s love story & vineyard wedding is straight out of a movie…
“John and I met in 2012 during our time as undergraduates at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My best friend and MOH was (and still is!) dating his best friend, and I was told I HAD to meet this guy John, who I was going to marry someday. That’s right- our wedding was predicted before we even met. Though a few years would pass before we started dating, we still give our friends every bit of the credit they deserve for helping us find each other.
John and I reconnected a couple of years after college and bonded over many things, one of those being our love for travel. After just two months of dating, we took our first trip together to Chile and Argentina (for the beautiful hikes and the gorgeous wine country), and really never stopped after that. In July 2019, we took a dreamy trip to Prague where John proposed. Needless to say, it was the most incredible moment, made even more special by the fact that John centered my ring around this breathtaking oval diamond that my father, who had passed away in 2017, gave to my mom on their anniversary. Using that stone made the ring infinitely more special because it felt like John and my dad, who never got to meet, created my ring together.”
Given their love for mountains (and wine), they chose the beautiful Vineyard at 37 High Holly in the Highlands, NC for their special day. They rented the venue for the whole weekend so they could have their friends and family there the whole time. It was a beautiful vineyard wedding.
Their vineyard wedding was made even more unique and unforgettable with so many special touches along the way… like the bride’s beautiful custom dress that was designed by her cousin Brandon Aldridge…and the photos of their parents at their own weddings displayed on the cake table to further serve as a reminder of the beautiful commitment we were making and how this day was the start of the rest of our lives… and custom jar candles with their wedding date on them made by Candlefish (out of Charleston, SC). There were so many more special touches that made this wedding theirs.
Kasey & John handled the shifting of expectations and what was possible because of the pandemic with incredible grace and ease. They also showed me that it was possible to host the most beautiful, intentional wedding day without compromising.
