Welcome to the Almond Leaf Blog!

I (Elizabeth) am a photographer who loves to see people relax, laugh and enjoy life. I thoroughly enjoy the simple delights of life, and love having the opportunity to capture them through my lens.

I see my camera as a means to reveal the beauty I see in people, objects, and Light that usually go unnoticed. While I adore children, weddings, and families enjoying life together, the driving force behind Almond Leaf Studios is a deep desire to see that same freedom and joy realized in the lives of women and children suffering injustice throughout the world. Photographing your family, your engagement, or your wedding day directly contributes to my ability to help in the fight against human trafficking and other social injustices throughout the world.

In this blog you'll find professional posts about what we're doing at Almond Leaf Studios, silly details about my quirky little life, and hopefully a funny story or two that'll put a smile on your face. Check back regularly for the latest happenings, and don't forget to leave a comment!

wrightsville treasure

Here’s a little taste of beauty and heart-happiness on this rainy Monday. I’ve got many treasures in store that have yet to be shared (i.e. blogged), some of which are similar to this little ‘steal-my-heart-away’ secret place I spotted as I was driving away from a shoot near Wrightsville Beach a few weeks ago. I’ve...

My Ben

Meet Ben, the love of my life. He makes me laugh … out loud. He loves to cuddle. He protects me. He entertains himself (and me!) by chasing flies and trying to catch them. He comes in to check on me when I’ve been working too long at my computer without a break. He always...

What a whirlwind the last few weeks have been! My friend, Cori, and I dreamed up the possibility of living together while on vacation in Alaska together and by the time we came back, we had a list of potential homes we were interested in. We got our hearts set on one, but when it...

Back from Alaska

I’m back! Alaska is seriously one of the most beautiful places in the world that I’ve ever traveled to. The mountains are breathtaking! I felt like every corner we turned, I found myself in disbelief that the scenery before us was actually real. I have to admit, too, that I have a thing for all...

Alaska

Here’s a quick little preview of the first day’s hike we did when we arrived in Alaska. Out of all the places I’ve been blessed to visit throughout the world, this is seriously one of the most captivatingly beautiful. It’s hard to believe that my sister actually lives here!

Out of the Office {vacation}

I am happy to say that I made it safely to Alaska last night. A few friends and I are sitting here in my sister’s apartment, getting ready to go for a hike in what I am convinced is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I will be here until the 12th,...

Gallery Opening & Reception

I am excited to announce a gallery opening and reception of my international work with Silent Images! Ken Beebe of Kugler Studio contacted me a while back about his interest in what I have been doing abroad in regard to this fight against human trafficking. With his help, and the help of my friend, Cori,...
